White Horse development update
The Waimate2gether team along with Kim and Riwia from the Department of Internal Affairs had a visit to the White horse site to check out the progress and show our visitors what a great asset this area is for Waimate. The scrub clearing is coming along well and the painting of the White horse is on hold until the weather warms up. The building of the platforms will start in July. The schools are busy working on their designs for the Pou Kura poles which will be positioned at the entrance. Resene have kindly donated all the paint for the White horse and the painting of the poles by the schools.
We had a site visit with Grant Hayman and Graham from Headford propagators. They had a good look round and were very helpful and gave some good ideas on what to plant around the white horse.
