This pou reflects Waituna’s beginning as a mahinga kai food gathering place, for eels, ferns and birds, and later as a farming district. The clouds are children’s handprints, the rocks are from the sides of their hands, and the sheep are their thumb prints. We also have three classrooms named after native birds.
