A lovely email from one of our local Kindergartens

The tamariki at John Street Kindergarten have been developing their understanding of tūrangawaewae and what is special about their town, Waimate and their place at John Street Kindergarten. This has been ongoing work and will continue local curriculum as new whānau and tamariki join our kindy whānau. This year we spent the months learning, researching and creating a collaborative work to display at the Matariki Festival. Our Pou has been created with ideas from our tamariki, kaiako and whānau. We can’t wait to see them displayed alongside our wonderful schools and early learning centres!
