Cycle and Walk trails update

Outdoor activities such as cycling and Walking are gaining popularity with locals and visitors, and are expected to continue into the future. The Waimate District is making a name for itself as a destination for cycling and walking through its individual and shared trails, where our beautiful landscapes and scenery can be experienced.

Hamish Seaton and I had a good look around the back of Gunns Bush to check out possibilities of where a grade 1/2 trail could go, which could eventually lead all the way to the top of Mt Studholme via Mt Shrives where you get spectacular views of the whole district. Waimate2gether are in the process of working with landowners, Port Blakely and DOC. The Waimate District is full of hidden gems, culture, history, stunning native bush and spectacular views.
